SunArmor C18

Further Evolution of Surface Modification

Combination of novel end-capping reagent with an ethylene chain and sunniest end-capping leads a silica C18 column to be stable under pH12 condition. SunArmor C18 can be used at pH range of a mobile phase between 2 to 12. This is almost same durability to compare with a hybrid C18s column. Furthermore SunArmor C18 shows better shape for acidic, basic and metal chelating compounds than the other hybrid C18 because of little residual silanol groups.

High durability under basic pH condition

SunArmor showed almost same durability or more to compare with the other hybrid C18 columns.

Duration test condition

Mobile phase: Methanol/10 mM Ammonium bicarbonate (pH 10.5, Adjust with ammonia water) = 30/70

Flow: 0.8 mL/min

Temperature: 60 ºC

Measurement condition

Mobile phase: Acetonitrile / water = 60/40

Flow: 0.2 mL/min

temperature: 60 ºC

Sample: Butyl benzene

High durability under neutral pH and high temperature condition

SunArmor C18 showed much more durability under neutral pH and high temparature condition than the conventional C18 and AQ C18 columns.

Duration test condition

Column size: 50 x 2.1 mm

Mobile phase: Methanol / 10 mM Ammonium acetate (pH 6.8) = 30/70

Flow: 0.2 mL/min

temperature: 80 ºC

Measurement conditions

Mobile phase: Acetonitrile / water = 60/40

Flow: 0.2 mL/min

temperature: 60 ºC

Sharp peak sharp in the acidic, basic and metal chelating compounds

* Hybrid C18s showed a very poor peak shape for formic acid. It is doubted that some amines as a byproduct remained on the surface of packing materials.
